This goes back to April when NYC was dying and had like 12k cases a day, and states like Florida and Texas were having like 100 a day and thought, “fuck it, we have this under control, open gyms, malls, hair salons and summer camp”.
I live in jersey. We just opened hair salons two weeks ago. The DMV last Tuesday (which was an absolute shit show with like 5+ hours long). We still don’t have gyms. And fall sports are already being shut down as a precaution. It’s all those other states that thought they could just open everything up. Doesn’t help people are turning this mask wearing into a republican v Democrat thing, and not a public health crisis.
