So this world of matter was created by the Demiurge, also know as Saturn, Yaldabaoth, Satan or for some even YHWH, the Old Testament God
He is a failed aeon born from Sophia failed attempt to understand the one, and created this degenerated fake material world to imitate the plemora.
Gnostics sects have different opinions of him: some consider him simply misguised and created this world out of unconscious remembrance of the pleroma, and trapped the divine sparks without knowing it
Others sects instead consired him a sentient malevolent entity, that created this world to lord over it's trapped slaves
