He single-handedly threw the country into chaos, causing hyperflation, rampant shortages, and famine, crushing individual liberties left and right, and murdering political opponents. It's no wonder the military overthrew the government - really, they all but had to, and what they did to resurrect the country afterwards is nothing less than amazing.
