>>12083571wow you weren't trolling. okay. how do cook rice:
1. Wash the rice
Why?
If you don't wash the rice it will have a lot of fine powdered starch sticking to it and that makes the cooked rice sticky.
How?
Take a cup to to measure the rice. If you use a standard coffee cup, 2 cups is about right. if you use only one cup you need a very small pot. Put the rice in a pot and add just enough water so that it is covered. Like sand in a swamp. i must not float. The grains must rub against each other to clean.
Then you rub the rice, you can either do it between your two hands (like always taking a handfull, rubbing it between your hands, then throwing it back in the pod) or you scrub it against the side of the pot. No matter how you do it, the grains must rub each other so that the starchy rice dust comes of and turns the water into a milky color. Do it for like 3 minutes until the water is murky. Then you add more water to wash up all the starch and gently drain it from the side of the pot. Repeat 3-4 times until the water stays almost clear.
2. Cook the rice
After washing your drain as much water as possible, use a fork or knife to hold the wet rice in the pot while you decant the water.
Now you add 1.5x the amount water in cups. So if you used 2 cups of rice you add 3 cups of water, and so on.
If you have an electric stove, preheat it to maximum. If you have a gas stove crank it up to like 80%.
Put the the pot with rice and water (no salt or anything) onto the stove without the lid and heat it until the water stars gently bubbling from under rice. as soon as it starts bubbling, gently stir the rice and then immediatly go back to minimum heat (like smallest flame possible on a gas stove or level 1 on an electric stove) and then put the lid on tip. from now on you will not stir the rice nor lift the lid. it is verboten.
