The bible makes it pretty clear that Hell is forever. You get your universalists who say that all will be saved, and that hell is for a time, but I don't see any scripture to support that. There are some ... arguments ... to be made but doctrinally things seem pretty clear about hell. I think that because all are worthy of hell, especially myself, and that he still says many, many people is of course just another example of His grace and mercy and kindness and love to those who are his enemies. We are called to be the same.

He gave his only begotten Son to die for us, so we could be reconciled to Him. God, the creator of all things, and you and me, came in the flesh in Jesus and died for us a humiliating death of a criminal so that we could come back to him again.

God is not the source of evil. Satan is. I don't know what to say about the problem of evil. It didn't come from God. It didn't come from outside of God. There is terrible, terrible suffering. The vast majority due to man's lust for power, scheming, greed, and general malevolent sin.

There are other natural disasters and the like that take lives but otherwise that counts for an insignificant amount of suffering relative to the vast ocean of pain that we live in.

I think though that you also miss all the wonderful, beautiful, praise-worthy things about this realm that we live in. The blooming of cherry blossom trees, and how the wind shakes the petals loose and they fall gracefully on a spring day. The joys of love, and kindness, peace, and ease. Great belly laughs and the thrill of excitement and adventure. The satisfaction of overcoming adversity. The beauty of a sunset and the laughter of a child.

We need Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. Truly.

I'm sorry for your suffering. I suffer too. We all do.

We have free will, and God is fully omniscient. There are no hypotheticals, only realities.

also you need to realize the only thing required to be spared this fate is to make the concious decission to want to be with God and trying to stick to his teachings as you deem them the truth and good. subsequently tp be punoshed you must decide to not be woth God under his law, to want to seperate yourself from him. now since everything exists within and through God, God being existence itself (I AM) seperation from God is non existence. as such this "punishment" is just what the people asked for in their folly after being warned over and over what this means
