No, wearing it inside shops only to avoid being bothered by wagies is NOT an excuse. Refuse to comply, use your country's relevant privacy/health laws in your favour and the wagies can't say shit to you.
If your job requires it, also use the relevant privacy laws and refuse to comply. Leave the job if you have to. This is the hill to die on, this starts with masks and ends with vaccine passports.
