>And who are you to say they aren't Christian if they say Jesus is their savior? Jesus said they aren't Christians... You have to follow his works to be his follower, you can't just be a hearer and not a doer. He even said this...
In fact it was his whole argument more or less summed up with the pharisees, that he was the Christ and they were trying to get away with doing evil and simply justifying it with their own made up rules and pride and that it's the spirit behind the act that he cares about, the act of doing good in spirit, not doing evil in spirit but then figuring out how you can justify your sins.
Also, if some idiot just goes out and starts a gang, and says he's the Jew gang and they're Jewish and makes a habit out of raping children and eating their dicks and then torturing them to death via burning them alive, does that mean Judaism is the religion of this practice?
Even right now, we have people in our largest church body who don't follow what Christ taught, and secretly worship the advesary of all Christianity, are they supposed to be Christians? If I become a Jain, and just start practicing Jainism but label myself a Christian, am I a Christian? Or how about with politics? If I start going out to protest to tear down the structure of society, want to see the bourgeois class destroyed and a revolution happen for the labor class, start burning down churchs and advocate materialistic secular humanism by policy but then I say I'm a classical Hobbesian conservative, does that make me one?
