I have been to an eatery today that is particularly liked by local elderly folk, there was this old man, maybe in his early 70s, whom I've helped on two ocassions seperated by maybe five minutes, but during the second time I tried to help him, he looked at me in an esepcially lucid moment and said "before all - do not bother". He also mumbled that his son was nearby that would assist him in dressing, but I ended up helping him anyway and I'm pretty sure he mistook my previous help when he dropped his cane with me being his son, which made me extra worried if this man is even able to walk back home or if he knows where his home is in the first place.
"Before all - do not bother".
I wonder if it's something his family pressured him into adapting or if that was his honest feeling, though judging by that lucid spark he had, I suppose he just really doesn't want to be a bother on this world..
