Some people think astrology works purely through uncionsious reflections of your own desires but I think there is something deeper too it.
Our lives and the planets in our solar syste have a common ancestor.
A previous star that exploded and blew its material in a disk, the chemistry of which apportioned and collected across those planets according to mathematical properties.
Life on earth followed a similar pattern, mirroring the chemistry of our environment. When you look at how astrology works, its a very geometric thing that relies on the geometry of our solar system itself.
Additionally it is fully understood and accepted by historians that humans and humanity exhibit cycles in their behavior. Cycles that have specific time periods that you can measure and make predictions from
The people who put astrology together, when you look at what we have and know of those people. They were historians doing that same exercise, who used the planets to time them.
From my experience with the thing, there is more substance to astrology than many astrologers would even admit. Astrology is a functional tool for predicting the future and understanding things that more obscure without the astrological toolkit.
There is that Jung quote, "One day science will realize the value of humanity's intuitive projection on to the stars."
I agree with that quote, but I think we are not just projecting but actually projecting back onto the universe its own rhythms, because we are a part of it, not separate things, we are slaves to it's story, and the story repeats.
