practice introducting yourself -- it's not hard
small talk - think of it like paddle tennis: it's a series of invitations from each party to the other to open the conversation to certain topics. if you don't like their offer then make a counter offer. if you reach some topic you'd like to discuss then fix on it.
Don't get so hung on up on saying 'right' or 'wrong' things. just keep the little ball rallying.
and you'll need to get off 4chan (preferably forever, esp. /bant/)
