Hypergamy is in simpler terms eugenics. It filters out poor quality males and prevents them from passing on their inferior genetics. Throughout history only a tiny fraction of males passed on their offspring and that was NORMAL! So the male loneliness epidemic is in fact a load of crap, Most men are supposed to be lonely at least in the sense that they shouldn't have sex or shouldn't have partners :)
