I started noticing a few years ago that people stopped using "to be" in sentences and it's definitely a thing.
Examples:
"My plants need watered."
"My teeth need brushed."
"My hair needs washed."
"These dishes need cleaned."
"That turtle needs punched."
"That onion needs sniffed."
