The Runes are bastardized Roman & Greek script. The Runes are only about 1800 years old and originate with illiterate Goths who tried to create their own writing system based on Latin and Greek. Gothic mercenaries in Roman garrisons had to be taught how to read and write by Roman soldiers. We are talking about a seriously inferior culture parasitizing a superior one. Also who do you think paid those mercenaries to fight for Rome if not (((them)))!?
