Do you think animals recognize humans as being especially intelligent and smarter than them?

Like, if you have a pet or have ever done work at a farm, you probably notice that animals cry out to people when they find themselves in a situation that they can’t navigate themselves out of that they know humans otherwise would.

Or do you think this is some sort of parental relationship?
