>>23931344>maybe if moot had never got rid of visible sage i really wish he didn't, the "sage isn't a downvote" argument is pretty stupid
it makes people learn from the trash they post (i mean, people still offend those who create bad threads,but you see tons of people who bump the thread while offending OP, which is ridiculous)
>could've saved this site from a lot of annoying faggots finding itseeing people who obviously came here from stuff like greentext caps and youtube videos is sometimes hilarious but mostly tragic ;_;
>I find it really interesting that Japanese people are so accepting of such a chaotic websitemy only guess is that boards were very distinctive from each other, but it's still very interesting how people from indeed all ages, hobbies, jobs and places (japanese places of course lol) used it
i guess the closest thing we have nowadays is perhaps twitter? i mean you have both world leaders and the most degenerate and deranged people posting there
nowadays, however, most people on 5chan (now owned by watkins, the same one who bought 8ch) are middle aged nettouyo who are just frustrated with everything and complain about koreans and chinese no matter the topic lol, i've seen people complaining about koreans on threads made for convenience stores, ramen, etc.
i guess some younger adults also use it, but they're the minority, most unfortunately just went to twitter.
here's a screencap from an anon talking more about it, it's from one of the /jp/ threads i've previously mentioned
>I guess it also makes sense though with how so many of them are basically incapable of speaking their mind IRL unless shitfaced drunk.this is also true, they have anonymous textboards since the 90s (ayashi world, for example), it was the best form of escapism possible
you can use the same logic with anime and otaku stuff in general
