>rhythm gamesAs far as I know the best ones are expensive and require consoles/controllers but there are some free ones too. osu! is rhythm game but very heavily based on aim, so not that recommended (it's still fun and very difficult). osu!mania is more traditional but it has some issues that make some people claim it's shit game. I like it and it should be ok for a beginner. Stepmania 5 has a better reputation and is totally free too but I'm just starting to fuck around with it as I can't get used to the interface (coming from other games their arrows are really hard to read) and it looks difficult to modify that. If you have a good PC you can probably emulate some Beatmania game. I tried to but had some stuttering and decided to stop but you might have more luck since I'm on a laptop.
If you do decide to play these keep in mind that 4K(keys) and 7K are probably the most popular styles and you should practice both of them from start. But styles are different accross different games too.
