A few times I glanced at her without a thought in mind, it struck me just how soul-piercing they actually are. If they were a bit bigger and someone put them at the top of a tower, I'd wager they could make the Eye of Sauron lower its gaze and look like the saddest puppy of the pet shop by comparison.
Indeed, maybe I would feel like that too, that's if I didn't know everything that is hidden behind them. If I wasn't aware of the pain as well as her strenght, of the grief as well as her desires, of the doubts and fear as well as her compassion.
Because I know how she struggled trying to open her eyes like she used to a long time ago, trying to wish unburdened by sorrow. Even if things won't ever be as she would hope and that old light won't ever return to her, she can still see, look, behold the world around her with every bit of curiosity, hope and love she can muster.
