I don't think anime has the same issue that American media does of relying entirely on remakes, ever since FMA Brotherhood most times animes have been remade it was to fix problems with the original series or to make a good update
now Urusei Yatsura is a timeless classic that featured a young, creative team putting a ton of passion and energy into each episode with flairs of their own style sprinkled over, on the one hand it doesn't NEED a remake to improve what was already perfect, but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility to get a similar spark of energy with new animators, something like Space Dandy or Eizouken, I don't know how likely this is but considering David Productions work on Jojo (I liked what they did except for part 4) and how respected Urusei Yatsura is among animators, I'm willing to give them a chance considering, also we haven't gotten much in the way of new content from Urusei Yatsura since the OVA's and that one special for Rumic World
Also Asano has absolutely made great stuff since '06, the list has too many good options to name them all, sure they're mostly character design but that's also what he's doing on the new Urusei Yatsura
I'm mainly just curious, if it's a trainwreck then that would be unfortunate, but I'm a glass half full kinda guy[/spoiler:lit]
