I was never really too interested in spin offs so I just skimmed through it, but her personality is more or less what I pictured her to be like if she weren't completely broken inside, so that was really nice, but since it seemed to be a typical love triangle that never makes any progress and never ends, I skipped right to the latest volume and apparently they changed artists halfway through (for the worse) and Rei had become your typical shy and flustered girl. It's as if character development had regressed rather than progressed. What a shame. At least Gendo's pretty cool. Asuka is Asuka. Yui is not dead. I liked volume 4 the most of the few I read. 14 the least, probably. I skipped a lot in between.
There's a lot of fanservice. It was hilarious at times, at others it's just annoying. It gets old fast, never been a fan of it. But if you are a fan of MC bumping into girls and falling into awkward positions, give it a try.
