>>2218362/feg/ got decent for a short while after Awakening came out because of the influx of new posters and content shaking things up. Then they left and it went right back to shit. /eog/ was significantly less helpful than /v/ threads on EO, which is telling.
>>2218361Every board is a containment board for /b/, since that's the only board moot cares about. Image dump boards always have less of a feeling of community than discussion boards, which is why I enjoy actually having discussions there, but even that is better than a general's problem of having too tight a community.
I'll admit that, on rare occasions, what would normally be a shitpost can be funny, but it's heavily dependent on context and most of the time that doesn't happen. It doesn't work on /s4s/ because there is no context for anything and it doesn't work in proper discussion because it doesn't fit in at best and derails things at worst.
The thread watcher tends to work pretty well on the slower boards, since they don't get new threads as often and you can find all the ones you're interested in in the catalog fairly easily. Catalog search is also useful on the big boards for finding the topic you're there to talk about, but sometimes it's good to just randomly browse and try to find something new.
