It's indisputable really, that Shikinami is a version of Asuka with more plot armor than character. More powers, no failures, this is what we call good treatment to the point of being a power fantasy you'd find in fanfiction.
In terms of portrayal, the character is now "cool", "cute" and "awesome", it's perfect fanservice.
