It's about connections between individuals, but not sci-fi telepath connections. There is a big difference there anon. Right now, there is no human or recognizable connection between the two other than a telepathic link, which may as well be a loudspeaker. Think about it, why does Shinji have to shout out his location?
If everything hinges on a telepathic link for it to possibly have relevancy, then you know how incredibly weak it is.
You've gotten tons of evidence and perspectives which you ignore - like Rei Q being a debut character and being discussed differently outside the show. Inside the show, they explain directly that Rei is still inside EVA01.
Because I appreciate Rei, I have to treat the character with the respect I think it deserves, and Rei Q isn't showing of that respect.
