I don’t know how long this has been news, but I just heard this afternoon about Alyssa Wong joining the writing staff. I’m glad, especially since she’s an actual writer with credentials, but I also think it’s a testament to how dysfunctional the process has been that a story that should be so simple and straightforward apparently needs reinforcements to help tell it. At least the fact that they're hiring means they haven't abandoned it, and I think having a female perspective on the main crew would help tremendously to effectively portray our heroines.
