It was dumb for me to assert that their songs are on the level of pop because they are in fact pop songs. I don't think any of their songs are particularly well-written, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying them.
What I enjoy in k-on!'s music is not really the lyrics, but rather the feeling behind the song, which is why I love U&I so much, with tenshi ni fureta yo in second place(Although I don't listen to it very often, it's bad for my heart).
All things considered they all have their own style of writing, and although I love the songs very much, I think it's too much of a stretch to consider the lyrics well written.
To avoid any confusion, I'm not saying that the lyrics are bad. Just that they're not special.
