Link would view my Sheik as a mysterious person who is very helpful. Link is shown to constantly want to talk to her more, but she throws down a deku nut to escape. I bet Link thinks of her as great friend in his own way. Link can't foster friendships like most people can because of his quest.
Zelda would view my Sheik as an essential friend. Their bond is likely much closer than that. My Sheik did everything to fulfill Zelda's wishes and she never complained. Zelda couldn't have asked for a better friend.
I hope Impa feels a bit happy knowing that she isn't the last of Sheikah anymore. Sheik can carry on that legacy while Impa cannot anymore.

She shouldn't be forced into a position that doesn't fit her. While I like traditional gender roles, my Sheik is special.
