Aria, Sound of the Sky, Tamayura, Sketchbook full colors, Honey and Clover, Rec, A Channel, One Week Friends, Encouragement of Climb, Recorder and Randsell, Barakamon, and definitely Yokohama Shopping Trip.
There are many a series that are worth mentioning but don't fall into any of these categories per se. The only way I can describe them (and this is literally just me) is to label them "big" and "little" in terms of their world building, length, popularity etc.
Big: School Rumble, Pet Girl Sakuraso, Cromartie High School, Kanamemo, Mysterious Girlfriend X, Seitokai Yakuindomo
Little: Strawberry Marshmallow, Love Lab, Kodomo no Jikan, GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class, Stella Women’s Academy, GJ-Bu, Toradora!, Doki Doki School Hours, Mitsudomoe, Yurumates, Working!!, My Neighbor Seki, Hanamaru Kindergarten, Pupipō!
I know I have missed a lot here, this is just a taster of what the SoL anime genre can offer you.
Any thoughts on changing the categories would be helpful.
