Ayanami Rei was an incredible character and lost everything that was making her great. She had that mixture of absolute dedication and complete disregard for herself and her own feelings it was very impressive to watch
Her personal tragedy and the way her relationships with Gendo and the rest of the world developed was thrilling to watch and actually gave me feels. Her drama and development were great.
And now what? Just a shy girl?
Just because you never liked Rei doesn't mean she had no value.
Sohryu Asuka was a complete sick bitch but one really well written and done, i could somewhat feel bad about her and understand why she's so fucked up.
