Besides, I'm doing my best to make it so it's not just over-writing her free will, but more giving her a chance to think things through a bit more calmly. Keeping things in-character while still showing the growth of her personality is the hardest part. The parts where the story gets more /e/ or /s/-related are easy as hell, by comparison.
