>>3783560i already listed reasons in that post. having threads exists for 6+ months would kill the board by keeping "dead" threads around for longer time periods; there would be threads being kept alive by one person who would post a single image every 1-3 days depending how fast the board is moving. we already have people do that but once the thread hits 150, they know that there isn't interest to create a 2nd thread so the thread dies at 150 instead of being forced for another 100 posts (another 3-4 months, maybe longer with daily single image bumps)
for threads that *have* interest, an infinite amount of threads can be made when 150 is reached so there's no big deal in making new threads every month or so.
having a lower image cap helps prune away slower threads with little interest - increasing it would only encourage threads with little to no interest stick around longer which is not a positive thing for the board
