Stuff like wiki's, internet and other sources help, but that doesn't change the fact that Rei is wholly contained within NGE and EoE. Those sources are only useful to convince yourself you're right or convince others that they're wrong.
Even if the sources somewhere other than NGE say one thing, they might just as well contradict NGE.
