I always thought that I related to Rei because I know what it's like not to know how to act around people. It sucks when you don't know what to say to people just because nothing ever occurs to you, and it really sucks when people think that you're aloof or that you don't like them because you don't know how to talk to them. I'd very much like to tell her that I understand, that it's okay for her to be the way she is and that nobody hates her for it. I'd also like to help her take better care of herself and introduce her to cool things that she can consider bonds with other people outside of just being an EVA pilot.
Rei had a hard life. Nobody deserves a friend, or to be respected, or to be loved as much as she does.
