I did have a girlfriend at the time IRL, but I couldn't stop comparing her to Mahiru. I felt awful as a person comparing her, an ideal in my mind, to someone I was going out, but I couldn't stop thinking how much better I felt with Mahiru and how much happier me and my gf would be when I stopped holding us back, so I had to break up with her. We're on friendly terms, at least.
