>>2156162>Rock and Revy influence each other, it's not a one-way thing.I'd certainly agree with that. Rock's gotten a whole lot less naive since the start of the series, and Revy has been responsible for a lot of that.
The ending will certainly be an action packed thrillfest, of that I can assure you, but I just can't see that sort of tragic ending working out in any sort of satisfying way. Look what happened with GSC Bust, which tried a similar sort of deal. For an unhappy ending to be satisfying there has to be a certain lack of sympathy for the main characters, a bit of meta-level hatred for them. Think Scareface. As interesting a character as he is, deep down you're supposed to hate Tony Montana. GSC lacked this for Rally and Misty, so when Sonada fucked them over it felt cheap and unfair. Revy and Rock are the same way, at your core you're supposed to love them, not hate them.
Of course, GSC Burst shows that even good authors can screw this up (although Sonada was really just mad at his publishers and wanted to get back at them), so we might just get a tragic ending. No one would feel very satisfied with it though, even the people who think they would right now.
