>>1816718You're right - Photoshop seems to be the best way to go for this.
While it does create some moving bright pixels in backgrounds and flat colors (like all dithering does), those are much easier to correct than trying to fix moving, already color-reduced gradient afterwards. I'll probably try combining parts of two different gif files to get both nice gradient and fixed background.
