Amputees are extremely underrepresented in media and when they are represented it's almost always with some technicool prosthesis or as a enhanced cyborg. This seems to be twice as true in anime. Its rare to have an amputee character who is simply an amputee.
I enjoy seeing her depicted as a regular person, living a relativley normal life. I do have something of an amputee kink, but I'm not a fan of the quadruple amputee slaves that are so commonly posted on /d/. I've got no interest in completely incapacitated invalids and find it very off putting.
