i've been lurking in waifu threads for a bit but never posted, so in honor of her day today, i'd like to join in!
sanae kochiya is my favorite 2hu and one of my favorite characters overall. i appreciate everything about her, from her cannon appearances, to her fan works, to her witty comebacks.
what really hits be is her story. she isekai'd to gensokyo after living in the outside world for so long. finding out she was part god and being a bit too 'gung ho' about hurting youkai as she excitedly explored a world of gods and fairy tales. and then became accepted by her new friends reimu & marisa, as well as suwako and kanako who act as her supportive family and watched her grow up and face the hardships of both worlds. her bloodlust never really goes away, but you can tell that she has grown throughout the years and now has more respect for her neighbors ( though she was pretty funny in her ‘idk whats going on just kill everything’ phase ) and grows into her title as a shrine maiden.
i think shes a smart cookie who is determined, tallented, and a bit of a dork. a good girl and a perfect mahou shoujo!
i wouldn't exactly say shes a waifu, only because i can’t imagine fitting in at moiyra shrine or some way that we could meet or interact with each other and hit it off. for that reason id more call myself a devoted admirer, im ok with her not being in this world because i can freely make tributes to her and find images of any kind, witch might make her uncomfortable if she found out. she absolutely would make a good wife, but if i could meet her somehow id much prefer being friends. i like to update my shrine website of her and doodle her a lot. also getting into gundam & general mecha anime for the first time to get a taste of what she enjoys.
