Her response was to say God wouldn't waste time trying something like that (evading the question), and that God has more important things to do. I didn't explicitly reject her views, talked to her with a curious mind, and left her room to answer or respond on her own. We never talked about religion again - it never came up. She was always friendly to me, and I remember visiting her house to hang out with her son and daughter fondly.
