If you ever have time while lying in bed, listen to

Get out of bed for 5-10 minutes, then go back to bed and tell yourself that you're going to become aware that you're dreaming. Repeat this in your head a dozen times and mean it. Most importantly, make sure you fall back asleep.
The few times I've made it, it's because I woke up in the morning then immediately "went back in" to my dream.
