>>3325043Blizzard doesn't really have a point to anything, bearing in mind them also killing Pained and Kinndy when they deleted Thera just to kick the puppy harder. You get used to it, eventually.
The problem I find, personally, with the 'they can't know' argument is that it makes Overwatch seem useless: She's kidnapped, and is 'found' seemingly none the worse for wear, then suddenly Gerard, who Talon jobbed at killing the entire time gets, assassinated and she's kidnapped(Well she was...by the programming, as it were) again, and then she's a Traitor? None of them find this the least bit suspect, given that Talon has created and deployed similar 'assets' in the past(Venice)? Did Jesse not think to mention these things once while he was lusting after Echo or something?
As for the brainwashing, it might be up in the air, but the evidence is more stacked towards 'zero free will'. She was suppressed and 'reprogrammed' to the point she would, well, kill Gerard, yet not even he or Angela noticed anything wrong. Then later, still 'compromised', she's trained, and finally, is physiologically altered, which also 'numbed her ability to feel human emotions'(Physical alterations to her brain? It's not clear). They went to a LOT of effort to turn Amelie into a 'living weapon'(Bio's own words), any freedom she possesses is what Talon WANTS, and to count that as her own will screams bad taste to me.
And of the other Talon characters, Reaper gets bitched at by Jack and Ana who KNOW, Rein who's response isn't canon, and Lena, who mocks him cheerily. And none of the heroes really care about Sombra I think, except Lena, who tells her to go get stuck where she was, forever. Moira gets' nothing AFAIK.
So a victim of unspeakable torture = A thieving nutjob who ruins lives for a few answers? Top quality storytelling Blizzard.
(I wish the post limit was higher, feels like I can't explain it adequately.)
