Personally I like it and a vague reasoning of why it exits that I go with is that, despite the spider body underneath it, her pedipalps still need musculature to be moved back and forth just like any other humanoid. Also I go with the head-canon of there is no anus in-between, so two nice soft cheeks with nothing dirty has a huge appeal.
Would you prefer something like the scorpion girl from the latest end card, as far as connection areas go?
As far as your pic goes, I would think it would be physically possible for Liz to raise her tail so the base sticks out 90 degrees, but that it is not the standard resting position. It would only be raised like that for mating and pooping.
