I use the DT770's for hiphop and DnB.
I spend most of my time on the AKG K701's as they are what I listen to recordings with (I'm in an orchestra) and master with. They are great for that.
The open can and easy to drive driver (only 62 ohms compared to DT 770 250 ohms) make for an awesome sound stage and a brilliant sound when amped through an E17. I like that they are brutally honest with music and don't try to warm it up at all. It always makes it easier to hear mistakes that he orchestra made or little intonation errors.
