>>3643971Those who know her name tend to like her. They tend to think she's cute, feel that her struggle to fulfill her dream and discover her inner bravery is inspiring, and that her scenes are refreshingly tame and heartwarming among all the gore and edginess in Elfen Lied.
The secondaries who only ever seem to think about diclonii and the anime opening are horrendous cancer, though, calling her a pointless fetish character who doesn't deserve to exist while not even bothering to learn her name. You know, the character who's literally the reason for the title of the series. The irony is even greater since since they'll readily rave about how Elfen Lied is so great for highlighting themes like social discrimination and alienation, cry about how humans are so cruel to others such as the diclonii for their differences (while ignoring that the diclonii other than Nana all commit mass murder for petty reasons and enjoy it), then turn right around and say absolutely vile things about a kind-hearted abuse victim who did nothing wrong simply because of what she wears (due to being abused, at that). The hypocrisy is astounding.
>>3644371Her breakdown in chapter 44 where she confesses to her issues and berates herself for them after having embarrassed herself completely in front of Kouta fills me with sorrow for her and rage at how horrible her father was to call her a failure and an unwanted child because of what he himself caused by abusing her. Also, I have a very hard time re-reading chapter 83 considering the horrible things that happen to her in it. Scenes that get me emotional in more positive ways are ones such as when she shows her bravery for the first time by protecting Kouta from Yuka in chapter 44, her teaching Nyuu to sing in chapter 47, Yuka inviting Nozomi to her inn and Nozomi standing up to her father in her special chapter, and Nozomi shyly asking her friends at the inn if she can move in with them permanently in chapter 82.
