This is Asuka. I love her. She is special (to me). I don't need anyone to tell me that because I already know.
Posting your wife here to engage in "what ifs" with others might seem like harmless entertainment or even as proof of your love. To me, seeing the big picture from outside the bucket, it looks like a lot of validation-seeking from others and to try and put appearances to fit in.
I've seen it tons of times, the people that are the most vocal about their waifu are the least serious about it. They just picked a girl who looked cute and ran with it just to enter the secret party.
There is no party. A waifu is a personal thing. She does not need validation from anyone but yourself. No one but you can appreciate her beauty.
Playing "what ifs" with randoms on the internet just shows how little it means to you. These threads are just based on the reciprocation of afection. Does that mean that wondering about possibilities is bad? Absolutely not, but it's painful because it can never happen in this reality. Everyone who loves their waifu can understand this feeling and act accordingly. That's why openly sharing your waifu in general threads seems like a bad thing to do.
