Also, I think Haibane Renmei really does get better with each rewatch, there's so much little nuance in every scene, even the "mundane" ones. I just realized that Rakka saying that she can't stay in the guest room forever and Kana talking about not feeding the crows lest they get too comfortable are both allusions to the purgatorial nature of Glie.
