But, yes, you're right, the "True" Rei can only be found in the Original TV series and EoE movie. And of course, our heart.
I guess the appeal is that it follows somewhat the Original storyline too.
It always disgusts me when seeing the green "middle" section of EVA Unit 01. That way I know that the game or "side" media is not worth paying attention to. And nor is their version of "Rei".
