>>3844055>Supporting this argument is like saying that Rei II is a different character from Rei I and Rei III (and therefore, already the Rei of EoE is a different character from that of the series). Do you want to support him?Yes I support him, for the reason that it's nothing like Rei in NGE. You've got a fundamental piece of lore misunderstood. See, Rei I and Rei II, Rei III and EoE Rei are the exact same character. No name change, no credit change, there's no ambiguity, they are very solidly and canonically the same character. The extra materials even go as far as to explain this that any difference in personaity is due to traumatic transfers, differences in the environment. Rei keeps most of her her memory because they back it up in that tank.
See, when Rei I died, they transferred her soul into a new body. When Rei II saved the rest of the gang by destroying Arael through self-destruct, they did the same thing and she now awakes as Rei III.
Ritsuko explains this further by saying that the "clones" of Rei aren't Rei themselves, they are merely spare parts for her reincarnation into the world of the living.
But with Rei Q, Rei II never died, and is still inside EVA01. What does that make Rei Q? It makes her just a soulless doll clone, which is precisely what Asuka fans and Rei haters want. This is pretty much explained in 3.0 and every other "supporting" work.
So in this case you are both morally wrong (Rei Q is an attack on Rei's character and saying they're the same is morally wrong), and objectively wrong (the in-universe canon has Rei and Rei Q pegged as two different characters).
Do yourself and everyone else favor, unless you really are trolling, stop trying to push Rei Q into a thread who both clearly does not want it and where it does not belong.
