Frankly I think Rei acts REALLY out of character in most of it (she gets better), the whole premise is based on Shinji being just a little too alpha (but I'll let that slide because maybe Instrumentality changes his mind about things) and Asuka is also just a little too quick to jump on Shinji. Now as I said, its an erotic doujin primarily so its not going to have pages and pages of Unresolved Sexual Tension so I can let most of that slide but I don't know. Ultimately I just don't like what it does to the AU Asuka about midway to a quarter way through the thing. Seems to be way out of character for her but hey, its an AU after all.
Like I said though, I'm willing to let it all slide because its got a good ending, as well as all that Alternate Universe stuff, but I certainly don't like it as much as some people do.
