The others don't bother me much at all. The MC from her series, Shirou, is a great guy and treats her well. He was originally written as a self-insert though, but really became his own character throughout the story.
I think "cope" is a bad way to describe it. Most of anime MCs like that are meant to be self-inserted into, they rarely have actual character to them.
