You don't need to be an asshole (ignoring where we are for a second) to defend something you enjoy. It's not hard to lurk and take in the community before posting; there is nothing wrong with shaming people who don't care about that community or culture that has already formed.
If this is about the argument that happened above, just because something is allowed on a board does not mean the board will view it favorably - so post at your own caution. People don't need to tolerate posts they don't like, even if it's not rule breaking.
I just want people to have fun ITT so I try not to be as confrontational, I may not like it but someone does.
