>>2910135Well then we aren't done, exactly are we? Because this:
>Anno is God of the Evaverse. He writes its Bible. His word is law for Evangelion. This is basic stuff. Poses a lot of problems, as the Evaverse has multiple authors which at times, contradict. Anno cannot undo what they, as authors, have done and said. One man alone? I don't think so.
Not only that, it would mean that what Anno "says" would supersede the actual work itself. If he were to say something about the original story five years from now, like claiming that Rei's eyes are blue, then the world would not rewrite itself to fit his claim. Rei would still have red eyes. The facts are that Anno is no more an authority on Evangelion than anyone else, because the only authority on Evangelion is Evangelion itself. Anno is only correct about e.g NGE as long as his claims match what was presented in NGE. Simple as.
Therefore, logically and reasonably, Anno is not the "God" of the Evaverse in any other way that he has the power and means to create spinoffs which - by the way - do not follow the original. The Rebuilds do not supersede the originals, it only gives fucked up otaku scum like yourself reason to delve deeper into the collective escapist delusion called Evangelion fandom.
It's also important to separate intent from product, which you seem unable to do. Please read this:
https://writing.upenn.edu/~taransky/Barthes.pdfwhich should be considered required reading, as any other related topics on the subject matter. My point remains that Evangelion is the only authority we need to consider, as the author can contradict his original work in later interviews or even works, and it would be dishonest to pretend the discrepancy isn't there. This is also a topic that's been discussed since ages before you and me:
http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Argument_from_authorityas authority alone does not equal proof. Also look at the last question in
